. . . is the fascinating Tilda Swinton. True, her style is not for everyone. She is sometimes quite stark, with her pale skin and no-makeup look. She wears some edgy clothes that definitely would not work for me. But I love her fashion statements, her divine posture, and her serene self-possession. Keep showing us your cool, fab style, Tilda, and congrats on just having turned 51!

| Casual, and still with the mysterious smile |
 |
| She's so cool and collected, and gorgeous in deep green |

| Her much-criticized 2008 Oscar gown. I like it. |

I really like her. And I do like her style -- it says her.

I like her style, and I'm thankful for the fact that I discovered her through her acting and admired her work before I ever saw her as a celebrity. That Oscar gown is one of my all-time favorite red carpet looks.
ReplyDeleteI like her style because it is unique. Her whole look is so different than everyone else. I too like her long, lean, excellent posture.
ReplyDeleteOn Fashion Police, they commented on one of her outfits~some people get sort of creeped out by her looks that is very distinctive. I love what she wears; I think it generally suits her personality!
ReplyDeletePatti~could you email me your home address? Your email link didnt work from your profile page. Thanks!
She makes you look twice-in a good way. Kind of David Bowie-ish maybe? But her own take on fashion for sure.

Always Summer
51?! She looks 39. Brava.
ReplyDeleteAlthough it seems out of sync with the no-makeup/no-lipstick look I have towonder if she colors her hair. My friends with red hair have all seen their natural color fade to a blondish tone as they've hit 50. She's unusual if she's got that bright hair for real.
ReplyDeleteI adore Tilda....did a post on her and her role in "I Am Love" several months ago. Check out her clothes in that movie - you will swoon!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah I love her!
ReplyDeleteI love that first photo. Definitely something I would wear!

oh yeah, Tilda is sumthin else! it is so refreshing to see anyone who looks so original and so themselves in the public eye - but especially an actress! So many look as if they were trying to squeeze themselves into a cookie cutter shape.
ReplyDeleteTrue style is unique and individual - women spend so much time trying to 'cover flaws' that they forget to emphasize what makes them unique. Inspiration for sure!! take care, steph
What's not to love about Tilda? So ethereal and fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI can def see you in that blouse!
ReplyDeleteHi Patti, hope you are having a nice weekend, what a great idea to feature Tilda, i just love her androgyne type - she looks great!
ReplyDeleteAriane
I think that her statuesque figure and face allow her to be able to wear anything. Not everyone can pull her looks off.

Tilda is elegant and unique, and so self assured. Love the photos!
ReplyDeleteI wonder why the criticism? That dress is beautiful, but not just anyone can wear it.Tilda obviously can.
