Saturday Inspiration, of the Over-50 Variety: Annette Bening

Today's fabulous Woman of a Certain Age is one we've been following in the public eye since her smashing breakthrough 21 years ago in The Grifters. Annette Bening is not a glamor girl but a true beauty, with a smile that lights up the room. I've always loved her effortless hairstyles and simple makeup. Her unfussy fashion sense leans heavily on menswear-inspired pieces, but she "glams up" beautifully too.

I think she's a grand actress, who can do comedy and drama with equal skill, and make it look easy. She's been married to Warren Beatty for almost 20 years and is the mother of four children. Here's to Annette, a  gorgeous age 53!

She makes her short hair so chic. And the earrings - boom!

Classic menswear, but with a wonderful feminine vibe.

I don't know why she's holding the bread but I adore the suit, hair, everything.
Everybody, eat more bread!

So gorgeous in a Marchesa dress.

  7. Ah, I hate it, how much a stunning appearance over 50 has to do with weight. At least it seems so in my eyes. I will have to work very hard, to be in such a shape after 50. It's the same with Helen Mirren, Isabelle Huppert ...

Annette has a heart-shaped face, no? I love that shape. Whatever it is :-)

  8. I like Annette's look because she stands out from the crowd with her signature style. Her style isn't necessarily the same as mine but I love it when people are unique and independent from everyone else when it comes to their personal style and everything else for that matter. Inspirational post....like!

  9. I admire Annette in so many ways.  I remember a response from her to a question about how she balances her life with so many roles to fulfill and she said she thrived on the lack of balance.  How real!
