I was inspired today by my friend Paula of Fashion Over Fifty. She looked so fabulous in her red and pink combo that I wanted to try something similar: hot pink and purple.
Even in Florida, winter can seem long if I stick to my dark neutrals every day. This floral knit top is cheery, super-soft and in one of my best colors. The black slim skirt is a regular; its cost-per-wear is probably down to pennies. The fun piece is the hot pink scarf as belt, thrifted for $2.
In my old, pre-blogger days, I would have chosen only a "nice" black leather belt to complete this outfit. Times have changed, my friends. Let's hear it for blogging and visibility!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout-out Patti!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, no better way to brighten up these dull winter days than by shaking the color up! Love this combo on you--
My next trick may be purple, lime green and red--ew boy!
I really like black with hot pink. It's such a great color combination. That fuchsia belt really spices things up!
ReplyDeleteGreat combination - I LOVE the big roses on the top!
ReplyDeleteThat blouse is very pretty, and the scarf belt is definitely a different touch!
ReplyDeletePatti--I love this look! And yeah for Paula for giving you the idea. I'm jealous of the boots! I'll be linking next! Thanks for this weekly event.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful scarf! it really is the perfect accent to your outfit!

Great outfit, love the touch of color in the scarf belt and flowers in the top. Color adds a smile to all seasons.
ReplyDeleteYes, those colours definitely suit you very well. And the scarf works so much better than a plain black belt! Yay for making changes - this blogging thing does that to a person! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Patti - I love your scarf-belt - so pretty! Hope it's okay that I've linked up two posts (last week's bright pink coat was too loud not to be considered visible)!!

Very pretty blouse, love the scarf belt! No dreary winter wardrobe here!
ReplyDeleteThanks for allowing me to link up. Love Visible Monday!
The pink "belt" really pops the outfit!!
ReplyDeleteI think winter scarves and hats are the perfect way to 'brighten' winter wear. I make sure to pretty much always buy mine in fun funky colors.
ReplyDeletePatti, you look lovely as always. The bright pink scarf is just the right touch to make the outfit shine.
ReplyDeleteAs I've been unsuccessful and joining in with your Visible Monday project so far, I've sort of done my own version today!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I found this through Ms Citizen Rosebud. Such a great idea. Mondays just got a lot brighter in my corner of the office!
ReplyDeleteLove your out fit xx
ReplyDeleteI have seen your post today - marvelous sleeve celebration! How can I help you with the link-up over here?
ReplyDeleteI always approve of hot pink, and seeing it with purple is no exception. You look smashing.
ReplyDeleteAs always, thanks for hosting this.
It does seem to be the time of year when a boost of colour makes a big difference!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely top - I like the floral motif - winter florals are a great way to chase away the winter blues as is hot pink! I have a terrible habit of wearing black and grey throughout winter so will have to take a page out of your book and break it up a bit!
ReplyDeleteOh I am going to HAVE to join in the fun of this awesome group Patti, you truly are an inspiration. It's so wonderful to read your snippets of how your style is changing and becoming more adventurous - beautiful!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful floral blouse is a welcome break from the dark neutrals of winter! So many gorgeous visual expressions on today's Visible Monday.
ReplyDeleteA bright and fresh look for sure!
ReplyDeletePatti ... I really like that scarf with this outfit. It's really perfect -- pulls out the colors in your shirt perfectly. I agree ... I have started to do a whole lot of things that I have never done before as well.
ReplyDeletePink is so cheerful!
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS! Why in the world do we shy away from color in winter? This certainly inspires me to brighten my overcast days with some vibrant hues! Hugs pretty! ~Serene
ReplyDeleteI can't decide what I like best the scarf belt or that little ginger leg kicking cat by your side ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Patti, your blouse is beautiful. I just saw a similar pattern in Elle mag. Great outfit. I plan to pick back up on Visible Monday, I have just been emotionally spent with all that has been going on with me lately. So many things that I have not even metioned on my blog. Trying to keep up. Nobody looks great in photos after they have been crying for weeks. Dawn Suitcase Vignettes xo
ReplyDeleteoh, so sorry, Dawn. I am sending good thought to you.
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit! I love a bright pop of color during winter! Totally cheers me up! :)
