Aging Beautifully: Holly Hunter

I fell for her hard in Raising Arizona, and sealed the deal in Always. Holly Hunter's fearless acting draws me in every time. She's not known for conventional Hollywood glamour, but is confident, natural-looking, and, IMHO, a knock-out at 54.

So cute with Nicolas Cage in Raising Arizona, 1987.

Unforgettable in The Piano, here with Harvey Keitel, 1993

Stunning in her 50's. Love the curls.

Casual and lovely.

Have a wonderful Saturday, and don't forget, Monday, July 30th is Visible Monday! Everyone is welcome to participate!

  1. She really is beautiful, and looks like a 'real' person...not a botoxed wax figure of herself ;)

  2. Holly Hunter almost got more beautiful with age! It is also a matter of character and maturity and some are able to wear that gracefully and natural into high age!

  6. I didn't recognize her in her curls!  I agree!  Quite the knock-out.

  7. I've loved Holly Hunter since she played Jane Roe in a made for tv film about the story behind Roe vs. Wade.  There's something very natural about her that appeals to me.

  8. She really is a very talented actress! It's hard to believe that she's 50+. She has always been lovely, but with age comes confidence and that just adds to her beauty!

  9.  i've admired Ms. Hunter and her style since i saw her in Swing Shift (i just looked it up - 1984!).  Her intelligence just burns thru in every role she plays. I think you nailed it with her natural approach to styling her hair and makeup, also she has always been in killer shape - those arms! Definitely helps anyone look better ;)  steph

  10. Holly Hunter looks great!  She hasn't changed much from early on and in fact, she probably looks even better with age!

  13. Oh my!  I actually had a dream last night about that finger cutting scene in the movie Piano.  I watched it years ago and have never been able to watch it again due to that scene.  Holly Hunter however, did a great acting job and it's true... she really is aging in an awesome fashion.  :-)
