Visible Monday #55: A Fabulous Fair Trade Top

Welcome to Visible Monday #55! If you want to participate, it's so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the simple how-to.

This breezy cotton tunic is a new favorite. It's from MarketPlace, a fair trade, not-for-profit group that offers Indian women an opportunity to sell their products and make a meaningful living. The tunic actually curves in at the waist, has perfect pockets and can be machine washed and worn without ironing. Oh, yes, no ironing for an all-cotton blouse! I'm wearing it for a casual work look here, but it would be cool with white jeans, or over a swimsuit.

I added just a basic camisole, my black pencil skirt (Laundry) and ankle booties (Soft). I feel visible and comfortable, and very "me".

The beaded necklace was created by a friend.

This tunic actually has a bit of a waist - love that feature.

I think I need the tunic in white too.

Now, let's see what you're wearing, Visible Women!!

The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple!
  1. Whoever wants to can join in! Just compose a post that includes any outfit, accessory, piece of jewelry, hairstyle, cosmetic or other adornment that makes you feel more confident, alive and visible that day.
  2. Include a link to Not Dead Yet Style somewhere in your post.
  3. Go to the bottom of this post and click on this cute little link:

In the "Next Step", you crop the pic (easy tool) you want to display, and you're done!

  6. Great tunic! It reminds me a lot of the Indian tunics I'm always admiring in the thrift store. I've bought a couple, but I wind up not wearing them because they don't fit my style. I love how you layered it with a skirt! Great idea.

You are so on trend. :-) You look great in your sassy little outfit too. The adorable booties give it that edge I love so much. So nice to see your smile every Monday. It makes me look forward to them of course. :-)

  26. Cute tunic! I never iron anything, so that style is perfect for me. That's part of the reason I dress so casually, I guess, but even when I worked outside the home as a therapist, most of my suits were knit and never needed ironing. :)

  44. I believe everything composed made a ton of sense.
However, think on this, what if you added a little content?
I mean, I don't want to tell you how to run your website, but what if you added a headline to possibly get folk's attention?
I mean "Visible Monday #55: A Fabulous Fair Trade Top" is a little boring.

You might glance at Yahoo's front page and watch how they create news headlines to get people interested. You might add a video or a related pic or two to grab people excited about what you've got to say.

In my opinion, it might make your posts a little bit more interesting.
