I have always loved her look - not too glam, overdone, or Hollywood. Yes, she is gorgeous, but in an authentic, approachable way, as if her beauty is not the top thing on her mind today.
I think I first noticed her in
Valmont, an overheated costume drama. Then she sizzled as the seductive con artist Myra in
The Grifters. She's starred in twenty-plus more movies, married an old-time movie star and raised a family, looking fabulous and real all the way through. You go, Annette, still smokin' at age 54.

| Great smile! And the signature tousled short hair. |
Have a fabulous Saturday, and don't forget, Monday, August 13th is Visible Monday! Everyone is welcome to participate!
I have always loved her look! Columbia movie studios has their familiar logo of a woman wearing a Romanesque draped gown, arm raised with a torchlight. I've always thought the new incarnation of that icon looks like Annette Benning.
ReplyDeleteI have watched her over and over again in the movie American President. She's just so lovely.
ReplyDeleteNot too familiar with Anne Bening but surprised to see Colin Firth in Valmont! I'll have to dig that one out as I love him!
ReplyDeleteLove her! I think she is a beautiful!
ReplyDeleteShe's a gorgeous woman at any age. I can only hope to look as good as she does.

Dangerous Curves
A very beautiful lady, with a great smile!
ReplyDeleteShe's so gorgeous! Like Melanie, I always thought, "Annette Benning" whenever I saw the Columbia logo.
ReplyDeleteI like that she's chosen to age gracefully. Wrinkles? Yup, got 'em.
She is such a classic beauty! I love her!
ReplyDeleteAmen, if I could age as beautifully as Annette Benning I'd be a happy human.
ReplyDelete"The Grifters" was a great movie!
ReplyDeleteMy all time favorite movie of hers is "Being Julia" w/ Jeremy Irons (2004). She plays a 1930's theatrical Diva--oh my!!
ReplyDeleteShe's fabulous, loved her in "The kids are alright", tough role, she was really courageous to accept such a role...best moment when she sings "All I want" by Joni Mitchell.
ReplyDeleteI love her look too...very unconventional by Hollywood standards which is/was refreshing. I loved her in the American President. Now I am off to check out Valmont...looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing that none of you have seen her irl in the last year. She's very thin, which is always problematic, and the stress of Warren and their oldest kid is really wearing on her. Let's let actresses be great on the big screen and not notice them on the street, please.
