The belt is very cool. It's got the seashells you see on one side, and a pretty blue/green print fabric on the other. And it ties, so it's easy to wear. Score!

I'm open to any styling advice on the Western booties - you know I trust your input as if this were my private Project Runway : > Have a splendid Thursday!

Love the shoes!
ReplyDeleteThese booties are great and would be such a hit in Texas! I would wear them with a denim skirt or jeans....they would look great with denim!
ReplyDeleteCUTE shoes!!! I think maybe some tights will help ground them to your skirt a bit better.
ReplyDeleteSouthwestern is supposedly very much on trend this year!
Cute booties! I would wear them with jeans for sure.
ReplyDeleteI do like those boots! Myself I'd wear with: slim jeans or rolled up straight leg jeans, or tunic with leggings, or a pencil skirt with tights.
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about Western booties, but I know I love this outfit! Casual and chic. I'd love to have a skirt like that one!
ReplyDeleteCindy at Notes in the Key of LifeI'm giving away a gorgeous Soft Surroundings top!
I have some! Rarely wear mine as I feel a little funny wearing them but I do love the look on others.
ReplyDeleteI actually Love these shoes with a skirt. I think it's great to take chances.

ps
I just recently discovered your blog. What took me so long? I really really like what you do. Keep up the good work :-)
I had a black pair of cowboy booties (not flat, though, like yours, but with a cowboy heel) that I loved to bits back in the 90s. I'd wear them now if I could find their like again. . . Those look credible with the skirt, and they're probably even more convincing with jeans -- what a great thrift find!
ReplyDeleteThose booties are adorable. Wear them as if they are just regular flats. Wear with ankle length denim or slim pants. so cute! Now I want a pair!
ReplyDeleteI like the booties paired with this outfit as is, but tights might give you that something you're looking, and even, brace yourself, leg warmers. If they are not back in style yet, they will be soon. I can see them looking incredible slouched down over your booties with a skirt or dress. I like your neutral palette here and your belt is fantastic - great score!
ReplyDeleteI'm not into "shooties" but I was reading that they're one of the very most popular shoe styles in the U.S.
ReplyDeleteI think a heavy, sturdy shoe like that needs a heavier leg. So if not pants then tights.
I know that fashion mixing calls for mixing textures and weights but a big shoe like that looks like it needs a thicker sock.
your belt is amazing and i love your shoes! never have seen shoes like this here in germany. i would wear them with thicker woolen tights and perhaps with a floral or a plaid dress. anyway they are cool!
ReplyDeleteI think they are a surprisingly cute pair of shoes. I think they'd look great with almost anything. I'd treat them sort of like oxfords.
ReplyDeleteI love the booties. They just add an extra flare to an already cool outfit!
ReplyDeleteI think the booties are great!! I think they'll look great with jeans or maybe a shorter skirt and tights! Love that belt!! Hugs my friend! Serene
ReplyDeleteSo cute, these little pointy booties. Wonder what they'd look like with neutral tights of the same saturation/tone, but different color? Gray, taupe, or even a close relative of the red (rust?) in your belt. You'll get tons of wear with jeans, heavy skirts ... how about with one of your loose-knit sweaters? How high is the heel?
ReplyDeleteHi Patti!
ReplyDeleteSorry i didn't comment often! I am such a bad girl!
I have western booties, pink! Well you know me!
I prefer them with skirts
I think it could look interesting with a girly dress what do you think?
Have a good weekend

Those boots look really comfortable. I'd pair them with slim, boot cut jeans.
ReplyDeleteI always have something askew in my pics - just enough to drive me batty :P Lately it's been ridiculous static cling, something I rarely experience. Looks great in pics - er, not!
Love the outfit but think the shoes would look better with jeans.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are awesome. Maxi skirts always look good on you. =)
ReplyDeleteLove your booties. You know how I love anything western. I think they look great the way you styled them.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Megan that you could treat them like oxfords. Of course, jeans always look great with anything western.
I think the booties are adorable! And you can't beat a pair of real leather shoes at a thrift store price. They pair great with that maxi skirt too. Great autumn outfit!Calliewww.coffeeandcardigans.com
ReplyDeleteI've been on the fence about a pair of booties like this, but yours look so great that I'm going to pull the trigger and buy them. I think they fill in the gap between sandals to taller boots when paired with skirts, which is just what I need right now. I'm loving the styling suggestions from your readers!
ReplyDeleteYou always seem to do well with booties and skirts. Whenever I try that combination (OK, usually only while shoe shopping), it looks so clunky to me. I wonder what your secret is? Maybe the ultra-pointiness of the booties? Or maybe because you're so slim? I just can't quite figure out why it doesn't work on me when my legs are on the long side. Anyway, I think you can get away with this one, tights or no. And I love that belt!
ReplyDeleteI think they would look very cute with a cuffed jean. Great score!
ReplyDeleteI really like how you've worn your booties here, they add a nice bit of structure to your ensemble, and the belt is perfect! They will look great with tights. I pair mine with wide-leg dress pants.
