Visible Monday #71: Camouflaged!

Welcome to Visible Monday #71! If you want to participate, it's so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the simple how-to.

I'm wearing my Vivienne by Vivienne Tam camouflage top today. I love this warm shade of green, it matches my eye color. I read in a style book that matching one's eye color with a top or scarf is a fool-proof color selector. I like fool-proof. And this top is really fun to wear. It's long and flowy, but not baggy, and has a cool exposed zipper.

The layers are a simple GAP tee and a new knit pencil skirt I bought on Ideeli.com. Have you ever shopped there? I'm cautious because my research has shown they don't always offer a true discount. But this Thalian skirt was only $18. It fits perfectly, so I went back and bought a teal one too!

It's still warm enough in Florida to show toes.

Love that zipper, although I was sure I had the top on
inside-out the first time  : >

Can't go wrong with a knit pencil skirt that moves well with you.

Now, let's see what you're wearing, Visible Women!!

The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple!
  1. Whoever wants to can join in! Just compose a post that includes any outfit, accessory, piece of jewelry, hairstyle, cosmetic or other adornment that makes you feel more confident, alive and visible that day.
  2. Include a link to Not Dead Yet Style somewhere in your post.
  3. Go to the bottom of this post and click on this cute little link:

In the "Next Step", you crop the pic (easy tool) you want to display, and you're done!

Hi Patti!  Green is one of my favorite colors too, and camo is always good in small doses with black (and denim, I think).  Artful layering in warm weather!!

  16. Lucky you. Green is the rarest eye color.

  17. I agree with everyone else - you look very cool in this. I really love the shoes, and also can't wait to see the teal skirt.

It's warm enough to still wear sandals here, too, which is unheard of! Freakishly warm in Eugene, Oregon.

  23. Great outfit and great top Patti. Unfortunately, following that eye rule for me would mean wearing dark brown which I'm not too keen on for myself....

It's a great top for you!  I shop at ideeli too but not much - they seem to sell the same things and keep changing the categories they are in.

Patti,  Very cute look on you.  I don't know if it's because I'm a sewer, or what, but the outside applied zippers get me every time.  I'm not sure I would have noticed yours because it looks tone on tone.  Thanks for hosting the link party!

  52. I would like the tip about picking up your eye color in a top or scarf... but mine are brown. Booring!

Your top looks great on you, though!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Cute outfit! I love the idea of a knit pencil skirt, but every time I try one on, they just end up accentuating my hips in a trashy way. ;) You however look amazing classy and lovely in yours. ;)

  54. The top is really pretty and that zipper in the back is really cool.

  55. I love your camo look, Patti! It's just the right touch of trendiness to spice up a black pencil skirt.  It looks great on you!

    http://playingcloset.blogspot.com/2012/07/my-project-officially-started-on-sunday.html
Maybe olive, peridot, yellow-green, cat's eyes?  i can't ever figure out just how to describe them.  And I always want to buy the tops that match, even if they don't really work! :)

  60. Excellent colours and hemlines, Patti! I think you're on to something with the eye colour tip.
