Spring/Summer 2013 Wish List

I've been doing these Polyvores for a couple of years: my Wish List for the upcoming season. They guide me, even if many of the pieces in the display are outrageously priced. (I often find my treasures at a consignment/thrift shop or at deep discount.)

And a picture is worth a couple hundred words, so this graphic helps me visualize what I'm shopping for better than a list:

Spring/Summer 2013

And some musings:

  • Graphic tees will give a little personality to my weekend wear. Nothing girly or cartoon-ish. Let It Be is cool for all ages.
  • A lace top will freshen up my full and pencil skirts. Must be lined for complete coverage!
  • Some colorful blouses will get a lot of mileage for work and play. Must be washable.
  • A versatile summer dress. Make mine a Karina Rita style.
  • Slightly looser-than-usual jeans look modern to me.
  • Bright flats and bangles for a boost of color, and neutral flat sandals for constant wear (I'll splurge on good ones).
  • A Spring-y full skirt to replace my worn-looking green one.
  • I'm all about delicate necklaces all of a sudden, and have my eye on WendyB's expressive necklaces.

I'll be a happy, well-dressed woman if I get most of this done. I'd love to hear what's on your shopping list!

Hi Patti, I am watching several places for graphic print tees.  The tribal looks are still in and I really like them.  Good polyvore and great to get us thinking SPRING!

  2. I'm on the lookout for a cool graphic tee too. Went to Goodwill yesterday thinking I could find one, but no. Sadly, they were all yucky.
I'd also like some flat sandals for spring and summer. I like the nude shade of the shoes you selected.

Love your list, Patti. Spring/summer sneaks up on me so fast in AZ that I don't usually get a list made. You've made me think about doing so before I head out shopping again. I guess I'm more of the "I didn't know I wanted that/needed that until I see it" kind of shopper.

  5. I have some new delicate necklaces coming up, in addition to what I have on the site! Plus I'm doing a lot of custom! Email me if you want some inside info on what's not officially for sale yet ;-)

BTW I'm having a never is the next new thing moment with graphic tees, which I thought I was done with forever. I'm getting this one: http://shop.tate.org.uk/lichtenstein-a-retrospective/hopeless-t-shirt/invt/g2062/

  6. The dress, the yellow flats, the fuller skirt... lovely selection!
Memories of my teenage years when I had a little notebook and made up lists and cost estimates in the absence of Polyvore, Internet and computers in general ;-)

  10. Sounds like an awesome list! So far I have an orange skirt I'm making (out of my orange dress), I want another good cardigan or two and a spring-plaid skirt. Otherwise I'm pretty set on clothes. I can't wait to break out all the sandals I scored on ebay over the winter.

Graphic tees are still big on my list.  I wear tees a lot because they work for the comfort and they are suitable temp-wise.  I feel like if I had 4 or 5 of the perfect ones I'd be set.  Not quite there yet...

  12. Lovely list! I have just bought a few things, so will be challenging myself to wear them inventively - some were replacements for old favourites, like your green skrt - always hard to do. In the end, I didn't replace like-for-like as that hasn't wrked for me recently, just type-for-type (e.g narrow leg trousers to replace peg leg trousers, etc).

  13. Oh yes, I can see you in all these pieces, Patti. Did you see Ms. Secret Squirrel's lace top? I could imagine you wearing that and looking gorgeous!
Love the blouses in particular. xxx

  17. Love your picks!  You can't go wrong with a graphic tee.  I love them with a skirt in a sort of casual dressy style.  I splurged on comfortable sandals last year so this year I would love a nude or colored shoe.  Debbie @ ilovemylemonadelife.com

  24. Hey Patti, I posted some snow pics on Facebook earlier and saw a post from the Beatles (see below). Then I'm looking at your goodies and see you are wanting a Let It Be tee. I think we both must have one! lol That's kind of weird, though, I think :o)
