More Nostalgia From Things That Are No More

Several of you said you enjoyed the nostalgic photos from the groovy site Things That Are No More. Here are a few more golden oldies that made me smile. Bonus points if you can remember what song  "I Am The Walrus" was the B-side for.

Before Coke Zero . . I loved this stuff when I was a teenager. Probably stunted my growth.
And actually, Tab is not no-more: you can still get it!

Beatles singles. Did you collect them all? Answer to trivia question about The Walrus here.

I really couldn't stand Mr. Whipple. Maybe he looked like an old
gym teacher. I still squeeze the TP however.

Romper Room. Oh how I loved this show. It was my dream that Miss Barbara would call my name.

Friendly reminder: Visible Monday starts tomorrow at around 5PM. Be there for all the visible festivities!

See you tomorrow, and stay fabulous,

  1. I remember Romper Room! I thought it was in colour though. Must be my mind remembers it that way.

    Have a great weekend!

  2. Romper bomper stomper boo, tell me, tell me, tell me do...

We had Miss Sue when I watched it - and loved it. And she never said Valerie. :-(

  3. I miss the old Fresca, but I'm pretty sure it was toxic in the extreme. I miss old Joss Whedon shows! (Haven't seen any of the newer ones)

  4. I loved Tab! My mother and I both drank it non-stop. How interesting that I won't even let my kids drink soft drinks at all. She and I may be a little crazy, but we're still kicking!
    xo, Kim

  5. Ahgrgh, I remember Tab clear (it had a different can though when I was a teen) but not anything of the others. What WAS romper room!>x

  6. I loved Romper Room! And I always squeezed the Charmin just to be contrary. :-)

I feel really old now! You can you-tube Romper Room - it was like electronic pre-school. xo

Ahh, Miss Sue. She probably said "Patti" at one point or another as it's such a 50's name. Your name is more timeless.

  9. I used to keep Tab under my desk in my dorm room to drink while I studied. Warm Tab. Ugh. I think I'll pass on the reissue.

  10. I liked Tab but I haven't gone out of my way to buy the re-issue. Fresca is another story!
I've got a 12 pack of that in my soda closet as we speak. I like the new flavors. I don't have one every day, but there are times when a fizzy drink hits the spot.

It was a magic mirror! But yeah, it looked like a fry pan.

  12. I like your nostagia stuff - I was one of the lucky few that got to be on Romper Room.

  13. Patti_NotDeadYetStyleFebruary 23, 2014 at 1:17 PM

wow! you're a celebrity to me. I bet it was big fun.

  14. She never ever called my name. Her mirror sucked.
I loved Tab though. I went on a Tab, cracker, tuna diet once. It lasted a week. I was an idiot.

  15. Romper room was THE BEST! I still remember my mother and all her girlfriends constantly drinking Tab, brought back some great memories.

My mother used to drink Tab, as she was forever on a diet. I used to watch Romper Room (are you a Do Bee?) even though it kind of annoyed me; we didn't have very many television channels to choose from.

  17. I loved the Charmin commercials! LOL. Recently I've had a 1970s Pizza Hut jingle stuck in my head. Odd!
